Students enrolled in Ballet will build a comprehensive understanding of Classical Ballet technique and terminology. Lessons are based on a traditional ballet curriculum that include barre exercises, center work and across the floor progressions. Through the emphasis of proper placement and body alignment, students will gain strength, flexibility and artistry in this timeless technique.
Level I:
Age: These classes are recommended for students 6 to 8 years of age.
Attire: Hair must be worn in a classical ballet bun. Any style black leotard with pink tights and pink leather ballet slippers. Wrap or pull on ballet skirt (optional). Available for purchase at Wilhelm Dance.
Level II:
Age: These classes are recommended for students 7 to 9 years of age.
Attire: Hair must be worn in a classical ballet bun. Any style black leotard with pink tights and pink leather ballet slippers. Wrap Ballet Skirts (optional). Available for purchase at Wilhelm Dance.
Level III:
Age: These classes are recommended for students 9 to 11 years of age.
Prerequisites: Students enrolled in this level and Beginning Pointe must be enrolled in a minimum of two ballet level III classes per week.

Specialty Class: Pre-Pointe/Beginning Pointe Technique (Placement into this class is by teacher recommendation only.)
Level IV:
Age: These classes are recommended for students 11 years of age and up.
Prerequisites: Students enrolled in this level and Pointe must be enrolled in a minimum of two ballet level IV classes per week.
Attire: Hair must be worn in a classical ballet bun. Any style black leotard with pink tights and pink split sole leather ballet slippers. Wrap Ballet Skirts (optional). Available for purchase at Wilhelm Dance.
Specialty Class: Pointe Technique (Placement into this class is by teacher recommendation only.)
Pre-Professional Division & Civic Youth Ballet Company
Intermediate Ballet:
Age: This class is by teacher recommendation only.
Prerequisites: Students are required to take a minimum of 2-3 ballet classes a week in addition to their weekly Pointe Technique class. A minimum of 3-4 hours per week.
Attire: Hair must be worn in a classical ballet bun. Any style black leotard with pink tights and pink split sole canvas/leather ballet slippers. Wrap Ballet Skirt (optional).
Specialty Class: Pointe Technique II (Placement into this class is by teacher recommendation only.)
Advanced Ballet:
Age: This class is by teacher recommendation only.
Prerequisites: Students are required to take a minimum of 2-3 ballet classes a week in addition to their weekly Pointe & Variations class. A minimum of 3-4 hours per week.
Attire: Hair must be worn in a classical ballet bun. Any style black leotard with pink tights and pink split sole canvas/leather ballet slippers. Wrap Ballet Skirt (optional).
